Project reference 00052

Pre-Hot-Mix Grading

Describe the application, material route, growing or working area and proposed rental period. A listed scenario is not a claim that a Dugong rental unit or local service is available.

This reference assembles relevant extracts from the guide library. It is general project planning, not a local project report, verified specification or translated technical publication.

Pre-Hot-Mix Grading

Pre-hot-mix grading prepares the layer beneath asphalt. Asphalt should not be expected to cure broad formation errors or drainage reversals.

Before moving material

Confirm the accepted layer, finished road profile and surfacing allowance.

Receiving operation and checks

Complete compaction and inspection before asphalt placement. Check transitions at joints, gutters and existing pavement.

Dugong can help prepare suitable ground; it is not an asphalt paver or compactor.

Pre-Paving Grading

Pre-paving grading sets the profile below the finished paving system. Its target must allow for the planned bedding and paving thickness rather than equal the finished top level.

Before moving material

Confirm thresholds, finished surface levels and layer thicknesses.

Receiving operation and checks

Complete compaction and place the specified bedding and paving system. Check the difference between formation level and finished level.

Paving details and tolerances must come from the project specification.

Land Levelling

Land levelling changes the relationship between high and low areas. It need not mean a horizontal surface: many uses require a deliberate fall. Define that finished relationship before deciding where soil should move.

Before moving material

Survey the site and protect a usable elevation reference.

Receiving operation and checks

Make controlled finishing passes and remeasure before the next operation. Check the designed fall as well as local smoothness.

Removing every visible high spot without a plan can create a new drainage problem.

Record the job inputs

Use this checklist to turn the scenario into a specific brief. Retain the design revision and agree who accepts each completed layer.

Checklist ticks apply only while this page is open. Include the completed brief in your project records.
